Inter Milan confirms Mario’s contract termination opens the way to Benfica
Inter Milan confirms Mario’s contract termination opens the way to Benfica. Inter Milan have confirmed the termination of midfielder Joao Mario’s contract on Monday.
The 28-year-old midfielder was brought in from Sporting Lisbon in 2016. But has had a disappointing performance before being loaned out to other clubs such as West Ham and Lokomotiv Moscow.
For the past season, Mario was loaned to Sporting despite reports that the Portuguese giants are keen to re-loan the midfielder. But it looks like the player is moving to Benfica.
Recently, Intercon confirmed that it had agreed to terminate the contract with Mario, making the Portuguese midfielder now a player without an agency who can move the team for free.
“FC Internazionale Milano announces that it has agreed to terminate the contract with Joao Mario,” the statement said.
It is believed that after this Mario will continue to negotiate with Benfica, which should be cleared soon.
